When a patient is referred to one of the QFG Doctors and their appropriate course of fertility treatment has been defined, all patients are encouraged to make an appointment to see one of the QFG Nurse Coordinators. The QFG nurse is committed to delivering a full range of support services to meet the varied needs of infertility patients at all points along their journey.
A diagnosis of infertility can be complicated and difficult. As well as dealing with the agonising uncertainty about the prospect of parenthood, patients are bombarded with terminology and treatment options they may never have heard of.Time spent with the Doctor can be limited and often patients need, and want, extra support from someone who understands the medical terminology, the procedures involved, the options, and the difficult choices – someone who understands the decisions a patient is facing and can engage in such a way as to bring clarity to the process. The nurses will teach both you and your partner how to use and administer any drugs you may need to take as part of your treatment.
QFG Nurse Coordinators are located at all QFG clinics and access to their service is included as part of a patient’s treatment.
