Infertility and IVF Counselling
Infertility and IVF Counselling is an essential component of the services provided by Queensland Fertility Group and we generally provide this service free to patients. Counselling is a support and information process, not an assessment process.
Each QFG clinic has at least one counsellor, who is either a Psychologist or Social Worker with extensive experience in their profession, as well as within the specialty of Reproductive Medicine Counselling. All are members of the Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA), and of the Fertility Society of Australia (FSA).
Counsellors are able to discuss with you any area of infertility and treatment. They can offer you support and assistance in coping with the stresses, grief, loss and anxiety that are often associated with infertility, diagnosis, and treatment, including pregnancy loss. Counsellors can discuss options available to you for treatment as recommended by your doctor. This includes donor use if appropriate, including donor sperm, donor oocytes and donor embryos.
Using counselling is another positive step in taking control over infertility, treatment and outcomes. To make an appointment with a counsellor simply ring your local QFG clinic.
