Dr Precious Lusumbami is committed to providing holistic woman centred care that is respectful, safe and evidence based in all aspects of Gynaecology and Fertility. She has a keen interest in complex reproductive issues and female infertility.
Dr Lusumbami is the Director of the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay Gynaecology. She is also the Chair of Gynaecology in the Noosa Hospital Medical Advisory Committee. Dr Lusumbami is a Queensland trained Gynaecology and Fertility Specialist.
After completing her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degrees with Honours at the University of Zimbabwe in 2000, she travelled to England where she gained experience in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology. She then moved to Queensland to formally train as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, acquiring skills from major hospitals including The Mater Mothers Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital and Cairns Hospital. She worked as a Staff Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Cairns Hospital before commencing private practice in Gynaecology and Fertility in the Sunshine Coast.
She has completed the Master in Reproductive Medicine with the University of New South Wales. As part of her advocacy in Womens’ Health, Dr Lusumbami completed a 12 month appointment to the Minister of Health as the RANZCOG Queensland representative in the Domestic and Family Violence Expert Advisory Group. She participated in developing a tool kit and ‘train the trainer’ resources in identifying and responding appropriately to domestic and family violence for use by all health professionals across public and private sector health services.
Precious joined Queensland Fertility Group and The Fertility Centre Sunshine Coast in early 2018.
