Fertility Fees

We understand that some of your first questions about fertility treatment may be do I need it, and how much might it cost. At Queensland Fertility Group, we’re committed to tailoring your treatment to your individual needs, and making it as appropriate, affordable and accessible as possible.

Queensland Fertility Group offers a complete range of fertility investigations and treatments, from bulk billed diagnostics, through to low cost and non or minimally invasive options though to In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF). Upon diagnosis, your fertility specialist will discuss the possible treatment options that are suitable for you. Our cost structure reflects this personalised approach, so we will then give you an informed financial consent that includes a cost breakdown and a plan to minimise your out of pocket invoicing. This ensures you receive your Medicare rebates as quickly as possible.

The good news is that, thanks to Medicare rebates, the Extended Medicare Safety Net and private health insurance, fertility treatment is more affordable than you may think. Most of our patients are eligible for Medicare refunds, and benefit from higher capped rebates once they reach the Medicare Safety Net Threshold in that calendar year. You’ll find more information on what you’re likely to pay, and what these payments include, in this section:

All you need to know about the three main types of cost related to fertility treatment, and an indication of the actual costs you can expect. Here we cover:

  • pre-treatment expenses, IVF treatment cycle costs and advanced science costs
  • which costs are generally covered by Medicare.

More detailed information about how Medicare works, and how it helps you afford fertility treatment. In this section we explain:

  • the treatments and services Medicare covers, and doesn’t cover
  • the different ways you can claim.

Useful information on what you may be able to claim back from your private health insurance, and the steps you need to take to do this. This page covers:

  • when to contact your health fund, and some of the things you’ll need to ask
  • the insurance details we’ll need from you.
