Queensland Health has partially eased recent COVID 19 restrictions, effective from 6pm on Friday 2 July, so that the following restrictions will only apply for QFG’s Brisbane facilities, including Little Edward St, St Andrew’s Place (Day Hospital and Embryology Lab), Springwood, Watkins Medical Centre and Everton Park:

  • Clinical and diagnostic services will continue as scheduled and nurse talks and counselling sessions will be moved to Zoom where possible to reduce patient contact
  • Only patients may enter our facilities at this point in time
    • semen sample collection for IVF cycles will need to occur off site
  • Face masks must be worn by patients at all times – please bring in your own mask if you have one, otherwise we can provide one when you arrive
  • Patients need to be screened for temperature and symptoms prior to entry to our facilities
  • People with a temperature of greater than 37.5, fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, had a loss of taste or smell, have visited a known hotspot, or have been directed to be tested or quarantined, please do not enter our facilities and self-isolate until a negative COVID test has returned

These directions will be reviewed on Saturday 3 July.

All other QFG facilities will mostly revert to previous COVID restrictions, as follows:

  • Partners and visitors may accompany patients
  • Semen sample collection may occur on site
  • Face masks are to be worn as clinically indicated, but the universal mask wearing is no longer required except for Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Townsville where people still need to wear them
  • Patients need to be screened for temperature and symptoms prior to entry
