Born in 1965, raised and educated in Brisbane, Gary graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland in 1988. He began specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1994, and obtained his FRANZCOG qualification in 1999. In 2010-11 he continued his tertiary studies graduating with a Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales. He was one of 4 specialists who started the QFG Gold Coast IVF Unit in 2001.
His training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery has been extensive. In 1999, before commencing practice on the Gold Coast, Gary undertook highly specialised training in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery for Endometriosis and Fertility at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne under arguably the most important pioneers in the country. This involved training in IVF and Assisted Reproductive Procedures.
Gary is currently a visiting specialist in Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery at Gold Coast University and Robina Hospitals. He is actively involved in teaching O&G trainees Minimally Invasive Surgery.
His practice focuses on gynaecology and fertility treatment and he specialises in complex laparoscopic surgical techniques for diseases affecting fertility with a special interest in endometriosis, fibroids, congenital and acquired disorders affecting fertility. He also has a special interest in hysteroscopic surgery for polyps, fibroids and uterine septae. Gary also has a significant interest in Male factor infertility and is experienced in surgical sperm retrieval techniques.
From a solid academic base and a wealth of experience, Gary’s thorough approach and attention to detail gives couples the best chance of successful pregnancy.
