Dr James Moir is the clinical director of QFG Sunshine Coast. Dr Moir’s office is based at the Nucleus Medical Suites, at the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital in Buderim. He also visits Caboolture Private Hospital and Gympie Specialist & Diagnostic Centre by appointment.
Dr Moir qualified in medicine in Aberdeen, Scotland, in June 1975. Early in his career, he spent several years working as a medical officer and scientific research officer in Papua New Guinea. After completing an MSc degree at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1986, he returned to the field of obstetrics and gynaecology, obtaining his specialist qualification in Australia in December 1994. He has been associated with IVF Sunshine Coast since 1996, and clinical director from 1999. He is a member of the RANZCOG, NASOG and the AMA.
Dr Moir is known for his high professional and ethical standards, with a strong commitment to individual care and personal respect towards his patients. In addition to his commitment to infertility treatment, Dr Moir also has works in obstetrics, delivering babies at the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital, and general gynaecology, with special interests in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, assessment and treatment of abnormal pap smears, and PCOS.
