Dr Renee Verkuijl is one of QFG’s newest clinicians having joined the group in March 2013, and comes to us with a passion for Women’s Health and a particular interest in Reproductive Medicine. Renee completed her medical studies in Amsterdam in 1998. She specialised in Tropical Medicine initially and worked in Kenya for 3 years. Her experiences there enhanced her passion for Women's Health and led her to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In 2005 Dr Verkuijl moved to Australia where she worked in Adelaide before moving to Queensland to finish the training program.
For the last 3 years she has worked at The Townsville Hospital where she received further experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery. She has received a Masters in Reproductive Medicine through the University of New South Wales. Besides Reproductive Medicine Renee has a great interest in pregnancy and birth, menstrual problems, pap smear abnormalities, laparoscopic surgery and all issues related to Women's Health.
